HESLB successfully completes UoI loan beneficiary’s verification

The process for physical verification to the loan beneficiary students at University of Iringa(UoI) held on last Friday by Higher Education Students Loan Board (HESLB) officials completed effectively without challenges to the University

Speaking to the scholar blog the public relation officer at University of Iringa Mr Crispine Nyomoye said that they facilitated HESLB officials effectively and provided everything they needed and completed their activities successfully.

He explained that the process aimed to identify students who receives loan faultily country wide , including those who receive loan more than their years of study who are not qualified to receive loan, who receive loan after leaving universities for disqualification or accomplishing their studies as well as ghost loan beneficiaries.

“The process is held countrywide and aims to find out students receiving loan five years while learning for three years also there are students who are not qualified to get loan as well as those ghost student who are not at universities and their names appear to the HESLB system” said Mr. Nyomoye

He added that inspite of the immediate announcement to students on submission of their certificates, all loan beneficiaries morw than 960 students succeded to submit their copies of certificates in appropriates time and huge number participated in physical verification except field students who will be visted at their field places.

On their side loan beneficiaries students showed their satisfaction in the whole process and gave the huge cooperation to the University and HESLB from beginning to the end of verification.

Hussein Ndawaine a Bachelor of education in Mathematics( BED-MATH) first year student said that it is good for HESLB to conduct such verification so as to recognize who receive loan wrongly in order to give those who are qualified and missed it.

“You know there are students who receive loan while are unqualified they replaced poor qualified students in the street. They were deprived loan because of this unqualified ones if they are recognized they will leave those chances to the poor students” said Ndawaine.

According to HESLB officers the result of physical verification of HESLB loan beneficiaries will be provided nationwide after all universities in the country being verified.
